I would like to setup the minimum on the carburetors of my 1971 750 SF.
I am looking for procedure (which screw to rotate, etc.) and advices.
Thanks,

Not positive if a 71 is different from my 74, but the base setting for the mixture screw is 1.5 turns out from fully closed. It's best to use a carb syncher in order to balance the slide adjusters accurately. I have a detailed step by step for adjusting Dell Orto PHF carbs and my email is:
ted@tedgadecki.com. From personal experience, make sure the throttle and enricher cables are routed correctly for free action and make sure the cable ends don't jump out of the carb bodies. Check the spark plugs for too lean or rich mixture and get a copy of the "Green Book" manual.
I hope this helps!

You need to go through the whole procedure before setting idle (minimum)
Balance
Float height
Make sure that jets, needles, needle jets, slides are conform to type.
Richness
Then idle.

Assuming the instruments are clean.

before all that, ignition points and their settings should be spot on before you do anything else (assume stock ignition). If you dont have a quality strobe you will never get them spot on, only close., and yes you have to do it on both sets of points. Then do all, the above, and again if you dont possess some kind of carb sychroniser you will not get them spot on, only close, even refitting the tank can change the throttle cables and put them out of synch.
