SF for sale ....... USA

the clocks, headlight and Lucas switches denote an SF1 but the front brake does not, it is SF0 or earlier, I cant see the rear brake, series I or 2 Laverda drum? this part on its own raises suspicion with me.
CLEM

The listing expired on CL but here is the current one same bike:
1972 Laverda 750 SF1  - Classic Cafe Racer - $12,495 (bayview)

Question for CLEMTOG - why does the front brake not match what you would expect of an SF1?
Asking because I have a very similar bike to this and want to see how mine differs - also I think mine an SF1 as I have Lucas switches, same headlight and SF brakes.

Link no longer valid, but I'm guessing Clem noticed it had the early SF single leading shoe brakes, not the fabulously powerful 2LS Super Freni    (std on all SF1s and rear SF2s).

I couldn't see that much detail IIRC.

Very interesting. I shall compare my front brake with what I see in the pic that spoke of a singular brake and not the Super.
Hey Pirhana - try the link I posted... it's fresher and works.

Also - since I'm in the area if someone is interested in that bike I could go do a preliminary reconnoitre. I have not been there before but have been at my favorite Moto show in Monterey (Quail Motorcycle Gathering - Carmel Valley)  each year and they showed a Vespa collection if I remember correctly. But really - aren't there more Laverdas in Canada than US? Somehow we missed the boat but but by some grace recognized what we had been missing.

It?s still a Laverda Twin leading shoe brake, just a different brake plate to the later one.

There is no SLS brake on a big Laverda apart from the 200mm rear Grimeca on the S, first GT and 650.

Some much prefer the first push-pull type Laverda brake.

My mistake - I assumed the older style Lav brake without the parallelogram lever system was an SLS. Still not std on any SF1 I ever saw, those older type brakes. And the bike has the correct backing plate on the rear.
