SF gearbox sprocket replacement

Apologies if this has been covered previously. I have just returned to Laverda ownership after a 40 year break.

I need to replace a worn gearbox sprocket and have bought one from Andy Wagner. The old sprocket came off with a puller but I can’t get the new one onto the output shaft even after slightly chamfering the edge of the sprocket splines and heating to 150 degrees C. Any advice would be welcome!

I've found that relieving the edges where the splines pass is often necessary.
It must be a tight fit. Play will induce wear on the shaft.

Sprocket.
Do not touch the output shaft.
They are liable to wear and hard to come by.
