Any way to identify if I have original handlebars on my sf?

they look the correct shape, the chrome has worn away, suggesting their quite old.

there's no knurling for the clamps.

there are no other marking / names or numbers

they are drilled for the wires, although the (central) exit hole doesn't line up with the offset hole in the top yoke.

Having had some re-chroming prices back (highest was ?78 for handlebars down to around ?45)... :o :o it may be a lot cheaper to buy new?

Jap Honda 750 CB where Suzuki Bars do the same thing.

But you need a hacksaw and shorten them for a Breganzie.

rechroming bars can make them smaller for the switchgear to fit securely, having said that I ve always rechromed mine but had to use inner tube rubber on one machine (Honda) on the switch clamps once.

I have never found a copy of the bars that came with my SF2. They had a much tighter bend and could thus be much narrower overall compared to any aftermarket bars I have found which seem copied from Jap or Brit bars. BMW R75 had very similar shape. There were no holes for cables in the original bars. I like narrower bars and have clipons on stubs (replaced the fork caps) above the triple clamps.

The only bars that we could find that came close at the time (eighties) were the Honda MB125f (could be slightly wrong though on exact model) - they were almost exact copies - but came in black - in those days chroming wasn't silly money - so we had a dozen or so sets re-chromed. - regards - Phil

I have an original set, they are fairly narrow and angle downwards a little at the grips. Quite hard on the wrists for long periods (i.e. more than 30 mins..)
