SF2 Air Filter

Hi,

The recent postings about Corsa carb settings raised questions about unifilter type airfilters - any recommendations for replacement paper filters for a SF2?

Thanks,

Andrew.

Andrew,

I use a paper filter element from a Morris/Austin Mini.  The little spacer tubes that prevent you crushing the filter when tightening the nuts need to be shortened a bit, as do the fixing studs.  The round filter element can be persuaded to fit in the rectangular recess of the filter box and rear fixing plate..... and Bob's your auntie(?) :D  Can keep your jetting and replacements are cheap as chips.

I don't seem to have had any trouble on my Jota with the Unifilter, and like the thought of good filtration..has anybody actually measured the alleged air flow "restiction" compared to say running no filter or a paper one?

I have had unifilters made especially for the later twins, as in 36mm carbed vesrions or GTL's, the unifilters for the earlier twins are at prototype testing stage

On my twins I cut the back out of the airbox and shoved big long Unifilters up through the holes into the rubber stubs to the carbs. Jetting is as standard, filtering is as good as you could want and the bike looks standard. We couldn?t find any replacement (like Piet has used) for the original element way beck then.

I use a P/N E-3952 K&M filter on my 74 SF1 (SN 14142).  It fits the original airbox without modification, is reusable, simplifies access, and runs about $32 US.
