If it's an issue of getting it started rather than period correct, consider fitting a flip-lever choke as used on other brands with Dellortos (Guzzi?) on just the accessible carb side - one side choked should get it started.

Can even buy such an item newly reproduced like this for low cost ebay Dellorto pattern flip choke lever

I wish they sold Victa parts here! got one on my "to buy" list for next Oz visit.
The washer under the top nut on the triple clamp can stop the top nut from doing it's job as a locknut on the bearing adjuster collar nut. There is no washer used there. Different system to Marzo.
 
Victor also makes an auto decompressor that fits into a spark plug hole, handy on big 2 strokes with 2 plug holes in their head.

I keep seeing U tube videos that are reversed, either that or DUI Cop videos out of America have a lot of right-hand drive cars in them, or maybe they're reversing pics now as well.
 
while not much help there is a guy in UK who is doing 3D stuff and Laverda sidepanels - one of the suggestions was the choke lever ( plastic) on the later triples - have not seen one yet but the panels seem to be selling well
