Good day to all—-
Attempting first time clutch removal
Requesting info on correct way to remove oil pump drive gear—-
Assuming you have to pull primary drive to get to clutch
Many thanks

Do not know exactly how it is at the SF2 but at the three cylinders it is not necessary. The big sprocket at the clutch can be removed separately as there is not much tension in the chain… and also mounted the same way without the rubbers in place.

The keyway must face either at 3 o clock or at six o clock. You can remove the drive sprocket nut with a rattle gun first, then as you rotate the oil pump gear carefully pull it outward at either forward or backward spots, you should be able to feel it. Do not use a tool to pry it out.

i think Lee means 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock. But the technique he describes is the way to go.

that is is, gently tugging by hand as you turn very slowly, and you will find it.

NOT AT ALL LIKE THE TRIPLES TOTALLY DIFFERENT
CLEM
