My new exhaust pipes (from Wolfgang) are stepped up to 43.5mm OD at the head, and the exhaust flanges have an ID of 40.5mm. Thoughts on how to proceed?

I don't know which head I have. Bike did not come with carbs. Previous owner had the head blueprinted by Engine Dynamics
You can measure it.
Inlet of the small-valve-head should
be near 30,3mm.
Big-valve-head has more

"i can bore the flanges out, but still confused about how the pipe is affixed in the head."
That type of flange needs the collet system (59-63) as shown in this parts diagram from Andy Wagner.
The flanges you have are probably the ones of different dimension, that go on the model without the crossover.

Hi
I have exactly what you need original factory items. Bore 46mm, counterbore for the half rings 49mm. I do not have the half rings.
P.M me if wanted.
Alan.

When you get that exhaust fitted please let me know how you like it and if the cross over pipe makes a performance difference. My 750 SF came w/ a Malcolm Cox exhaust w/ no cross over, and I've heard it affects mid range. I haven't ridden the bike much yet to tell how it's performing

All of us 750 owners back in the 70s ditched that crossover as all it did was reduce cornering speed and made the bike too quite!!!
Made fuck all difference to mid range and added a shit load more weight. I'm talking SF1,2,3

Bought my bike in pieces, so I won't be able judge any changes, but I do plan to run it on the local Ducati shop's dyno....Hopefully yet this riding season!
