SF2 fork cap nuts

Racetech kit installed and ready to assemble front end. Looks like I will need to remove the cap nuts to in order to slide the tubes in. See pic. Do I have the correct nuts? No big deal, but I have not come across this situation before now. Thanks!

Pretty sure the caps are designed to go on after the forks have been fitted to the triple clamps - you could machine the outers down to 38mm without creating dramas - much easier to live with IMHO.
 
As Q said, I also have mine machined off so that they can go through the clamp. When you refit them, they only need to be nipped up. not TIGHTened, as there is a big surface area and the hex nut is soft easily damaged alloy. Also make sure the pinch bolt on the upper triple clamp is loosened if doing them in the clamps.
