Sf2 head number of fins / valves and guides

It depends on how those 7mm guides were fitted.
Will standard or near 8mm guides fit?

You wouldn't want to replace a looking for 7mm valves problem by looking for oversize guides.

Asking if the 7mm guides can simply bore out to 8mm and use std SF valves. A question for a specialist head work engineer.
The late SFC 7mm valve guides do have quite a taper down at the valve head end - could be milled back to get more "meat" there - the inlets have the same oil seal as the triples too and would be a bit flimsy (IMHO) - Regards - Phil

Marty, I have the 8mm guides that came out of my original SF1 head - they're in good nick and you could just go back to 8mm valves. Happy to post them to you. Might even have the valves as well. Note that SF1s didn't have oil seals on either inlet or exhaust - was never an issue on my bike.

Let me know if you're interested and I'll see what I've got. There's no advantage having 7mm valves for your touring bike - and as Phil says, the stem seals won't fit the 8mm stems and the stepped section where the 7mm seals fit would end up very flimsy - I cracked one fitting the guide into the head (40 years ago, overenthusiastic and inexperienced!).

Hey HJ, people don't understand that helicopter pilots march to a different drummer, at least the ones I've known. Same with Laverda owners (different drummer), so (your rotary wing drummer x your laverda drummer) / high test beer factor = I still find it amusing. :D
