SF2 Ignition Switch

Does anyone have a photo of the back of the ignition switch (i.e. the connections) for a '75 model SF2 ? It's the early type with 3 wires only (2 reds and a brown). I've got the wiring diagram from Parker's but it isn't very helpful in indicating which wires connect to which contacts. I've spent hours with a multimeter and used 1/2Lb solder so far to no avail :o?

Yogi and MarkM need not apply.. :P :D

cheers

Somebody mention a cyclone? lovely day up here in the 'ville 8)

Hi Andy I don't have any information on that switch but can I suggest that the larger red wire will most likely be the infeed to the switch the other red and brown will be where the power is switched to see if you can pick the first one and use the mutimeter to see which ones close with the ignition switch on pos 1 and pos 2 I think the red may be lighting and the brown ignition have a look on an SF2 wiring diagram to confirm.

Andy hope this helps

Now that is interesting. I've used one of the contacts to the front left of the picture which must be for the off-with-park-lights and now everything works but only in that position. I did try to identify which circuits were which with a multimeter but got hopeless results (mostly persistent open circuits) and have assumed the contacts in the switch to be none too good too.. As it is now I can take the key out after starting the bike which is no bad thing when on a long run..
