Hello Forum, well at long last my SF2 was registered on Friday, though here in Sydney we have been hit by allot of wild weather I did manage a little ride Friday arvo, bike went well though it did stop and found it hard to start again, I got home and hooked up my laptop to the IgniTech which didn't seem to be set up for a Laverda twin, which is weird, I did take out the module and disconnect the battery a few weeks ago, I have since reset the module and it starts fine but due to the weather haven't be able to road test.

Also I was wondering if anyone has a photo of the original foot pegs off a SF2 (if they are different from any other SF range) I would like to lower my pegs, thought the ones which came with the bike are of different bend and shape and not sure if this is right or if I have them on the right sides, I have try changing them to get a position but I can't seem to lower them enough, I am running just normal bars ( no clip ons or Jota type bars)
Regards

These pegs were on my '74 SF2.

They may be the same part?  Not sure, but when they're put together they look similar.

& I look forward to seeing another SF at The Barry next year.  (thumbup)

Hi Jason B, and congratulations on getting your SF registered.

Both the left & right pegs on my SF1 are identical too. I once asked Wolfgang about this, and he said that was the way it was supposed to be.

Now, if you know of a way to keep the rubber footrest from spinning off from the shifter side, I would appreciate the info!

Hope this helps.

Joe

Hi Mark & Joe, many thanks for the replies and pictures. Only one of my pegs look like the photo, I have asked Wolfgang if he has any in stock and wait to see what he has.

And yes bring on The Barry 2017

Neoprene glue.
Paul

Thanks Paul - couldn't find neoprene glue, so I bought some "Gunk" for automotive use - claims are it can stick anything to metal. If that doesn't work, I plan to drill a hole in the end of the footpeg and screw in a bolt with a head just a bit bigger than the rod diameter, then ram the rubber onto it. And, if that doesn't work, I will put the bolt through the rubber.

Jason B - please let me know what you find out about the pegs (i.e. - should they be the same or different on each side?) this will help me figure out the "provenance" of my bike. For some reason, I think it might be the offspring of two different year bikes, although the frame and engine numbers match.

Thanks,

Joe

Hey Jason well done, full rego?  Very difficult to lower the standard pegs due to the position of the pipes and the brake lever, bit of a crappy setup.  I went to rear sets, but that was when I could fold my legs up, about 20 years ago.....  Not sure what I will do with the footpegs on my 750 yet, but I have some brakets that Vince had made up to lower his pegs on the 3C, will see if they work.
You're welcome to try them if that helps.

Cheers

Marty

Thanks for the replies, I have found out that one of my pegs is all bent wrong, wish I knew before getting them plated, but that is on the back burner as the SF2 has a gremlin in the electronic ignition and a worn out starter spray clutch, which is a shame as I was hoping to take it to CIMAA annual BBQ. Thanks for the offer Marty.

Just pulled out my backing plate and points to check there condition, could be on the cards.

my advice would be they'd need to be in bloody good condition, or they're just not worth the bother.
, if in poor condition and worn-out, only use for a short-term bodge
