SF2 Side Stand build & ?

I have started to make
a side stand for my SF2. One of the items I am not sure about is the lever to deploy/retract the stand. A picture would be helpful - thanks in advance.
In the past I had several parts made; including foot, top brackets and spring tab. I had a couple left and decided to modify the design slightly. I'm eliminating the crushed tube via a turned piece

Good on you to actually improve something instead of just accepting it as being another Laverda "quirk"- a working side stand is nice to have. My SF2 came with a stand from Wolfgang, that while robustly made, failed to prop up the bike without it falling over due to being too long and angled improperly at 90 degrees. I shortened it to 7.5" long and filed away the retaining housing so that the stand would angle forward and the bike is now stable without falling over. The grounding plate angle had to be adjusted to make contact with the ground. My tires are BattleAx 100/110/90 so different profiles can affect the stand geometry. I have Malcolm Cox exhausts and the 5" long kick tab could be longer to stick out farther. Surely, an "expert" here must know of a substitute stand that works better than OEM.

My bike does not have a side stand, however I do have machines to make stuff, along with tubing, foot, plates etc...,and precisely crushing tubing seems so cave dweller. I have now no excuse besides not being a welder 9-)
 
Here's the modified side stand on my SF2.
It allows me to deploy it easily whilst sat on the bike. It enables me to get off after a few hours in the saddle, particularly with luggage at the back, without risking dropping it all.

I’m getting around to the mockup of the side stand. I’d like to know what material was used for the bushing, I’d think it was sacrificial. I’d probably use brass. Is it worth having the length adjustable? I don’t use the side stand as anything but a temporary solution but if there are suggested improvements I may as well consider them.

The number of times I have cut and shut both stands, any change to the suspension or tyre profile, and you're at it again.

So adjustability is good...=+/- 3mm? With a removable foot it could be fairly easy to put a thinner/thicker one in place
 
I think adjustable is a great ides. I put some time when building my centrestand to have it height adjustable I don't have a sidestand so it needed to be very secure and easy to use. It makes a huge diff to the ease or otherwise of getting it on and off and i've already made changes for different rear suspension settings.

You could easily use the same principle for your sidestand. I made the main tube with a pinch bolt that clamps the foot portion, but with so much weight on it I added an alu sleeve to keep it in place. In the pic you can just see the bottom of the leg and the alu spacer.
