SF3 clutch cable

Hello all. First post, though have been reading/learning/admiring for a while. I bought an SF3 6 months ago – Ged at GCS has had it in, pronounces it "not bad" – and I want to take it over to France next month. I feel it would be good to add a clutch cable to my luggage. Am I being over-cautious, and if not any ideas where can I find a decent one? Web searches aren't helpful so far and I've heard the Venhill (?) ones aren't great.
Thanks in advance ))

JJ Cables in UK were the recommended option by our sadly missed forum friend Clem. I only find them on FB, they answered a query from me almost instantly. An extended clutch arm is the option many of us have chosen, the cables then last indefinitely.

That's great thank you, Tippie. As I'm going through the circles of hell to access my FB account this morning (having moved to a new phone), I'll get round to JJ Cables as soon as Meta stop being utterly useless. Can you tell me, do they supply the extended clutch arm, or someone else?

I did, for several years, work unsuccessfully with Venhill to try to resolve the shortcomings of their proferred cables.
The limitations of the nipples, barrel and trumpet, that they stock, proved less than satisfactory.
Currently using a JJ Cables replaced inner. Not enough mileage to say whether it's going to last longer, but they were an absolute pleasure to deal with.

I'm definitely going that route. Thanks very much, J

Yes, take a spare clutch cable, and a spare throttle cable. Other option is a cable repair kit with screw on nipples and length of cable. Or both.
Whereabouts in France are you headed?
Paul

I bought a “heavy duty” Venhill clutch cable and thought it was built well, so what’s wrong with them and where can I buy the extended arm? I placed a coiled used one between the tool box and battery area as a spare and squirted some cable lube in the Venhill that doesn’t seem to seat into the clutch lever housing very well.
