SF3 front forks

Interesting. My SF1 inexplicably had 38mm forks and dual disks. I eventually surmised that the original owner crashed the front end and the dealer put on what he had. In this case, the dealer must have pirated his race bike to satisfy a customer, because the front end was from an SFC, complete with the SFC yokes (orange paint was still visible on the underside).
More likely that the owner wanted to upgrade it so it stopped as well as it goes. My 1973 SF1 hasn't had a Laverda drum on the front since 1976 for this very reason. The factory didn't fit discs up front because the drums were too good!!!

SF2 #16190 has 38 mm forks & was fitted with the earlier steel mounting plate for the ND instruments and ND ignition switch.
& for the rivet-counters, it has the earlier 17-fin head.

Mark, I thought the higher fin count heads were small-valve pre-SF1??? I've got a heavily modified one going on bike #1. SF2's came years later than small-valve heads.

ay Q, reckon Ian Falloon must be correct, that 16-fin heads were introduced at the start of the SF2 series.
Hence, all SF1 heads were a 17-fin large-valve sucking through a 36 Dello?  (dunno)

Never had issues with spoke Ceraini 35mm forks on a SF or Ducati 750SS but did with Jap Honda 750's, KZ 900's and Yamaha 650's tubes.
