SF750 selector cover

Hello all, I am nearly finished with my SF750 engine rebuild now. In the green book Page 84 there is a schematic showing the parts. Looking at the outer end (gear lever end) you have the lever, then a washer / shim, O-ring, then another washer / shim then the spring. Is the first shim outside of the cover to retain the o-ring. There does not seem to be much to hold that o-ring in place. I think it must be. 2nd question,

I have one of Malc's extended clutch levers, to fit it there is a small bracket in the kit to raise the cable adjuster to a similar height to the extended lever, this means I have to fix the plate to the original cable position, does anyone know what thread the cable adjuster is so I can source a bolt. My vernier measures 7.8mm and my thread gauge say its a 1mm pitch

7mm bolt, same pitch (1.25?)as the threaded part of clutch cable.

There does not seem to be much to hold that o-ring in place.

Not much is needed to keep it in place, because it sits deep enough in the cover to not pop out.

You sometimes need two shims behind the gear lever to hold that O ring in.

I bought a GTL which had a Triumph clutch cable fitted 5/16”x24tpi - not far off

as my Learned friend Marnix says, but also there is no real quantity of oil sloshing around on the shaft, so even if the O ring flops about and the lever rattles in and out it still wont leak oil from that point, just not good practice.
