Else a very nicely preserved bike from the first batch! Hope they did put some oil on cams and into the cylinders for starting it first time after it was standing for long...

OF COURSE! when new it would have had 30 year old Smiths instruments which were replaced with the vagueliars (Veglia) type under recall from the factory, and very likely the front wheel gear ratios were not changed (as instructed and supplied by Moto Laverda) so the speed and odometer will be (usually) out anyway.

Not sure if all of the first batch originally had Smith instruments; I think the smith instruments were used when they ran out of Veglias, no?

Mine has Veglias and shows roughly 10%-15% to much which would mean it collects more kilometers than it's ridden, no?
 
Canada has very odd bike pricing g right now, with our “peso” strength $. $17k US is actually a conservative but ok price here these days.

Rode mine on a Saturday evening blast with my son and a friend. Son first on the Formula, me on the 1000 SFC. Afterwards we swapt bikes and son first time rode the 1000 SFC. once he got used to it, he really liked it much... ;-)
