Sfc Cable ties.

Hello everybody,
could you help me to understand which type of cable ties has used in origin on Sfc to lock electrical cables on the frame ? Maybe insulated tape ?

On drum brake SFCs black tape was used, disc brake SFCs had tie wraps.

but what about the ones that had tape at the front of the top tubes and cable ties at the rear?, where they orientated with the tabs at the offside or nearside, where they black or silver or something else, and how much was left after cutting the excess?

What grade of polypropylene was used in those cable ties? It's VERY important!

The generic cable ties as we know them today were in their infancy in the early 70's, I'd guess Breganze used something special, like these;

OE fitment on my '74 Chott. Used for attaching the wiring loom to the frame as well. I've found them on other survivors too.

Please excuse the dust, bikes will be thoroughly cleaned and polished before taking to the road once weather clears.

Thre are a couple of these on mine.
If you are careful, you can push the pin (it's not a rivet!) back out, and re-use them. A bit fiddly to re-fit but eminently possible.
