SFC cams

Okay, I am finally getting around to inventorying, cleaning and evaluating my SFC project (aka, pile of parts).

Cams look pretty rough (rust).  Are they available (probably a silly question...)

Does anyone weld and re-grind them? I think I see a "5/C" on one of them. Is that correct for an SFC?

Upon further review, I think I have two LH side cams (each with the tach cable drive gear) and no RH side cam...guess I'll have to go through the boxes of parts again.

Disc brake SFCs had 5 or 6C cams.
They are available, for the moment, through usual dealers.

Obviously the other halves (RHS) are hiding in the boxes. If it's only surface rust, you may be able to carefully linish by hand with superfine emery and polish. I do that with rockers to get them back to mirror finish if there are very mild score marks on them (gotta be careful with rockers, as the hardchroming is pretty shallow). Cams are more forgiving.

If you are putting together a road going SFC the 5C is ideal.

Yes, 6C is less full midrange than the 5C and to quote a friend "will rev as far as your wallet will allow".
