This 1974 Laverda 750 SFC is one of 222 built for the 1974 model year, and this European-market example was imported to Australia in 1985 and subsequently refurbished. It was purchased two decades later by author Ian Falloon, whose book The Laverda Twins & Triples Bible features this 750 SFC on its cover. Finished in orange, the motorcycle is powered by an air-cooled 744cc parallel-twin linked with a close-ratio five-speed transmission. It is also equipped with a two-into-one exhaust system, a magnesium gearbox cover and rear hub, a zinc-plated frame, Ceriani suspension, triple disc brakes with 280mm rotors and Brembo calipers, and laced wheels with Borrani shouldered aluminum rims as well as a headlight, a taillight, a half fairing, a clear windscreen, a solo saddle, and a center stand. The motorcycle was acquired by the seller in 2024, and work performed in preparation for the sale included replacing the fuel line, flushing the brake fluid, cleaning the dual Dell’Orto carburetors, and setting the ignition timing and points as well as changing the oil and battery. This 750 Super Freni Competizione was imported to the US before it was acquired by the seller in 2024, and it is now offered with a hardcover Falloon Report, a copy of The Laverda Twins & Triples Bible, a service invoice, a removed two-into-two exhaust system, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.

The 750 SFC was a production racer-style evolution of the company’s 750 SF model, and it features a lowered zinc-plated frame that utilizes the engine as a stressed member. The bodywork is finished in orange, and it was refurbished circa 1985 under the care of Australian motorcycle collector John Dawson, with further reconditioning having been performed under Ian Falloon’s ownership. The 6.6-gallon fuel tank wears “Moto Laverda Breganze” tricolore graphics, and additional details include a half fairing, a clear windscreen, a headlight and a taillight, a solo saddle, rear-set foot controls, and a center stand.

Laced wheels with shouldered Borrani aluminum rims are wrapped in Dunlop tires, and the bike was factory equipped with a magnesium rear hub. Ceriani suspension consists of a telescopic fork in addition to a pair of shocks attached to the orange-finished swingarm. Stopping power is provided by dual front disc brakes and a single rear disc brake, each of which is equipped with a 280mm rotor and a Brembo caliper. The brake fluid was flushed in preparation for the sale.

Clip-on handlebars are mounted beneath the orange-finished triple clamp which fronts a Laverda-branded Smiths 10k-rpm tachometer. No odometer is present, though the seller estimates having ridden 20 miles under their ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The air-cooled 744cc parallel-twin produced 75 horsepower when new, and it was updated with a higher-capacity oil pump, a lightened and balanced crankshaft, polished connecting rods, modified valves and springs, and dual 36mm Dell’Orto carburetors for the 1974 model year. Work performed in preparation for the sale included replacing the fuel line, cleaning the carburetors, and setting the ignition timing and points as well as changing the oil and battery.

Power is sent to the rear wheel through a close-ratio five-speed transmission which is shifted on the right and was fitted with a magnesium cover and strengthened for the 1974 model year.

This Laverda 750 SFC is one of 222 production racers built for the 1974 model year and is powered by a matching-numbers 744cc parallel twin mated to a five-speed transmission. The bike is finished in orange and features a Ceriani front end, Borrani wheels, triple Brembo disc brakes, an adjustable Tommaselli handlebar, and fiberglass racing-style bodywork. Reportedly delivered new to Toronto dealer Franco Romanelli, it then spent time with collectors in Missouri, Wisconsin, and New York before being acquired by the selling dealer two years ago. Recommissioning work is said to have been carried out in the last year, and the bike has been kept on static display since. This Super Freni Competizione is offered with an owner’s manual and a clean California title.

Braking is from dual 280mm Brembo discs up front and a single version at the rear end, which also features a magnesium wheel hub.

Adjustable clubman-style Tommaselli handlebars feature a cable-operated choke lever on the left. Nippon Denso gauges consist of a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, a 150-mph speedometer, and a five-digit odometer showing 250 miles, a handful of which have been ridden by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.

It was just a joke about the price-difference between the first and the second auction. only noticeable difference on the bike (with my limited knowledge) were the stickers... that's why... ;)
 
Just saw a post about someone selling a green frame in Oz, the first couple of paragraphs were angry, abusive threats about not arguing with his 400k price tag as that was its market value. His version of The Art of the Deal, I guess.
 
I just thought it was funny, like escalating the old NO TIME WASTERS by 1000% in the ad. It's a dumb way to encourage anyone to spend money.
