SFC1000 LH Footrest broken

As a result of an unfortunate incident today I now have a broken SFC1000 foot rest bracket - see photo.  So I'm looking for any points of view about the feasibility of repair, or anyone who knows where I might get a replacement.  Seems like the thing is forged so not sure that welding will work?

yes, it can be welded. Best if someone is able to laser-weld it. a bit more expensive, but very nice finish and less stress for the parts.

So the sad tale was that we had swapped bikes - I was in front on the SFC and we pulled off the freeway to do the Brooklyn bends; I pulled up at the t-junction, he did likewise behind me and then I started to pull out, had second thoughts, but he had already started to pull off and went into the back of me - Jota fell to the right, SFC to the left - and we looked like a right pair of muppets to the car behind who kindly lent a hand to pick us off the floor.


Just one of those things.  I'll have to get the Jota alternator cover re-welded and polished as it has a small crack on the underside - I think it already had been fixed up by Red when he did the engine.


Anyway I've fixed the SFC front indicator (had a spare lens), enquired about the footrest mount and the alternator cover - so hopefully not too long.
