Im selling my triple.
Didnt want to let this go as my partner likes this one, but one of the bikes has to go.
Yes it needs a good clean and polish but I'm in the process of moving and little time for much else at the moment.
As you will see it has spokes instead of mag wheels.
I wanted to paint it in the Witt colours if I kept it.
Less than 24000 miles on the clock.
Registered in February 1989.
Owned by Alan Bell at one point of its life.
I have a new black chrome exhaust, not fitted. This was near £1000 on it's own.
It's not been started for 2 years so if you want to come take a look give me a bit of time to pull out the plugs, remove cam cover and put some oil on those sensitive bits.
Any questions or photos just send me contact details and I will be happy to oblige.
Thanks for taking a look.
Mike
Sorry unable to load photos.
It's in factory red.
Unrestored.
I dont know what it's worth.
I know what it owes me but I have lost money on every laverda I sold recently.
Let's start at £9500 WITHOUT new exhaust

Nice. If it was in Australia I'd sell my Jota to buy it. I like the Jota, but I've got to an age where it's getting a bit too uncomfortable for long days in the saddle. An RGS or SFC1000 would be a bit easier on my old bones. I reckon the SFC1000 is the best looking of the 120° triples.

Dumb question: What are Witt colours?

Yesterday we were talking and a recent new owner of an SFC was saying it was not real comfy and I have heard the same from another long term owner. I don't know why as lots can be done to change the ergonomics pretty easily. Those late model wire wheel bikes do look dead sexy, it wont last long for a sale.

The ergonomics of the SFC1000 are pretty much the same as the RGS, apart from the non adjustable footrests on the SFC.
I suppose the adjustable footrests on the RGS could make a big difference to comfort if you have knee problems, as I do with my right knee. I'd have to sit on a bike to see if it's OK.

A lot of comfort issues can be resolved by using an Airhawk saddle pad or similar. Actual riding pos on the the SFC1000 and RGS looks fine to me (c/w an SFC750 for example!).

I spent a day on an RGS and it was fine, you could feel how similar it was to my 3c. I haven't ridden an SFC tripal so have no idea except what those 2 bloke have said. My impression was the issue was the seat to peg position. BTW I think I saw a post on FB, that there is a Corsa in Oz for sale listed at 50k.

The comfort on the 1000SFC is limited as the seat unit is very narrow and not padded much. also the sitting position is with the upper body leaned a bit forward. Just what a "Sports tourer" is about. Different handlebars with different mounting position can make a HUGE difference to that. The bike is a bit top-heavy, which needs to be encountered when pushing the bike or getting on/off it. Once you are actually riding it, it's becoming more and more agil and even top speed riding feels safe any time (correct suspension in good condition assumed). The wire wheels look much nicer than the alloy ones, however, they are heavier... Can't tell much about the particular bike other than that the price seems to be fair compared to what is written above about the condition. Hard to say though, they do not come up for sale often. Good chance to grap one of the rarest Laverdas ever built (less were built than the famous 750 SFC).

"Witt Colors" are Gold and Black with silver letters instead of Gold and Red with black letters. Uwe was a big fan of the Lotus JPS design of the 80's and so he painted some of the second series in black. The classic I restored was one of them:

this one has aftermarket front discs (original ones were worn out) and is missing the "1000 SFC" letters on the side of the seat unit. It has already Koni rear dampers (original on series 2) and black silk painted/coated exhaust front to rear. Else it is put back to original as much as I could.

As I have both RGS and SFC I can compare. The bikes feel different. The RGS is one of the comfortables bikes I have ridden. Very good and wide seat, Rubber footrests and a smoth 38 mm Marzocchi fork. The RGS is a very good touring bike also with two persons and al travel gear on long distance. I like it more than the SFC.
I know most traditional Laverda enthusiasts do not like the RGS, to much plastic. But is is a design typical for that time and maybe the overall performance of the RGS is the best which Laverda ever built.
The SFC is more stylish an looks like a sports bike. But far not as comfortable. The SFC seat is just foam, a bit lower, foot rests are hard and I think the main difference is the fork. The 41.7 mm M 1 ist a bit sticky not as smoth as the 38 mm at the RGS.
But a big difference makes the engine, just 11 Hp‘s between both but the SFC likes rev and and has a far better performance in higher revs. It always wants to pull you foreward....
