Side stand bracket

That sidestand bracket is a very nice piece of engineering, and it is a very nice looking bit of kit in polished stainless ...If you can find one, a company makes an adjustable billet sidestand for Kawi sportbikes that is used when they are lowered or raised. I found one of these on Ebay, and it really helped since the stock sidestands vary in length a bit, and this one allowed me to get the lean just right....Don't know the name of the company, will have to look on Ebay, and I don't have my bike to take a pic (Scott Potter is freshening up the top end).

The 5 Bushman sidestand brackets I bought were neither stainless or polished.
Some sort of tough brushed aluminium at a guess.

Fair enough, but the 5 I have are not polished.
Looked like brushed aluminium but could be brushed stainless.

I can't speak highly enough of the Jim Bushman side stand conversion. It look good and it is good. The bike is as solid as rock now.   I took off the main stand and keep it in the garage for the odd time I need it for maintenance... The bike looks so much sleeker and uncluttered without the mainstand.

For chain oiling I fitted a chain oiler from a Gloucester supplier for ? 20.00...works a treat. I top it up with Hypoid gear oil.

I can not remember the name of guy that came up with this idea but it is a fantastic revealaion !!

Jim has carried it forward..... But Lothar provided a water cut alloy item that I and a few others use

a total revolution !!  I can not speak highly enough of them !

Sigh.  Here we go again.  Rob came up with a bracket for his bike and kindly supplied me with some drawings because I wanted something similar.  As far as I'm concerned it's his design.   I tidied these drawings up and hand made an alloy version for my LHS shift.  I then had a mate do the drawings to a pro standard together with a CAD rendering and he made me one in  8mm aircraft alloy on his CNC mill with some improvements that I couldn't manage with the facilities I have.  Jim Bush then offered to have these water cut in 6mm stainless so I sent him the drawings my mate did and off he went.  The cutout isn't necessary on the stainless ones.

Rob came up with the idea and design, Jim made the water cut stainless brackets, and jolly nice they are too.

One with cutout at frame mount in alloy (from a well known large aeroplane!) made by my mate:

CAD rendering- note cutout on my bracket not necessary on 6mm stainless ones

Hi,
fixed a kit to a 3CL for testing last sunday.
Did you also experience interference with the main
stand's arm?
Did you shorten it or weld it in another position?

Ciao, Ernesto
