Euhm I have a SF2 conversed to a SFC look-a-like-a-bit

In my neighberhood there's a motorcycle parts shop.

In one of my adventures I found a ducati 996 side stand and with some small bushes it fits quite easily...
Without the need to weld / grind or hurten my baby 8)

But keep in mind mine's a fake laverda cafe racer type you'r bike is the real deal and thats why everbody hate's the idea

Kind regards

Sam

Sam,

Yeah I knew this might be controversial, but then what the heck.....Any chance you could PM me with a few more details about how you fitted your stand?

thanks

Mike

I take it you guys worked 'open channel' then? Gutsy stuff.. I tried it for a couple of weeks and got nowhere.. Ended up working for an outfit in Croydon doing point to point using pagers to be notified of jobs.. Less stressful and the GT550s in common use then (89-92) were blissfully easy to ride with no vices.. Don't recall using a centre stand once tho.. :D

I loved it. Earned 190 quid my first week when i was previously getting 90 on a building site and soon earned 300 and once i learned the ropes 500 quid week weren't uncommon during the winter.
Good money for the mid 80's and maggie let me out without paying one cent penny in tax....
Generous to the core ms Thatcher.
Dangerous business but i had no brains (still haven't) so didnt worry about the risk.
Paid for a lot of travelling afterwards.  :D

Yeah, it was an easy way to make good money even when there was a recession on (good old maggie). I started off making about ?200 in the first week but was up to ?500 pw by week three with multiple PoBs.. Lost weight and sleep for the first 3weeks trying to navigate and remember routes as well as stay alive (I had a continuous headache for those first few weeks: learned to stay well away from 'certain' women drivers (can I say that these days?) along with The Strand and Waterloo Bridge in the wet. The Kwak GT550s were so good; my first experience of real handling and brakes. Had to ride an old CX500 for a week when I had the GT stolen outside the Bank of England.. Tall, heavy, slow..What a dog! Didn't do any winter work.. Either worked for the Post Office or pissed off abroad or to college. Spent some of the proceeds on a T160 though have always wondered why as the GT ran rings around it (as would almost anything else bigger than a lawnmower).
Great fun.. 8)

Kids today etc? Pah :D :D

Mike, Sam's SFC rep is based on a SF2 so has a side stand as standard ex factory. Don't think I'd been too keen on welding anything onto an SFC frame. You'd loose the plated finish for a start.
