Sidestand from hell?

Saw this nicely restored 3CL at the Stafford Classic Bike Show yesterday, the side stand bracket seems to stick out a mile, surely that will hit the deck very easily?
It wasn't on the ILOC stand by the way.

Had one of those mounted on my jota. removed it soon, still the bracket produced a lot of sparks in tight left hand corners...

Bit of frame metal been left on the road on that drum brake triple!! That sidestand looks about as tucked away as footboards on a hog!

As the bike does not look like it has ever been ridden, the side stand dragging on the ground does not matter. It also appears the right oil cooler hose is gonna burn up on the exhaust pipe.

It looks like one of (very good) Bushman / Jotajoe / Rob Lawton / Grant Duguid stand brackets that's been mounted in the wrong place....

All Beganzie Laverda side stands are from HELL - The bike would fall over perched on one just looking at it - especially sinking into hot asphalt, gravel or whatever !

Use the Center Stand ;o)

Most Breganzie Enthusiasts replaced them with something more appropriate.

I always carried a 4" Square Plate in the Letter Box of my SF0 for such occasions.
Just remember to kick it up before leaning into a left corner or you will TRIP ;o(

The length of that side stand is based on the STD Dia of the OEM tires for it work somewhat.

Harley's never had a Center Stand (Because they weighed a Ton) but a GREAT Side Stand ;o)

With the Center Stand deployed on a Breganzie you can strip the bike down to the frame.

I burnt the Stock OEM soft Metzeler tires off within a few months with my 70 SF0 and replaced them with larger Dia Rayon Belted Radial Pirelli Phamtoms Comps and I was in Side Stand HELL - But Man did them Phantoms WORK ;o)

The Breganzie Side Stand is from HELL - Either you modify it for specific tire diameters or live with it.

That would apply to most side stands. Worse than the bike falling over are the fatal accidents due to them being left down and riding off. I followed a CB750 once for miles trying to get his attention to warn him. All got cutout switches these days.

That reminds me of an accident outside a campsite I was staying at in Annecy France years ago, lad in shorts and t-shirt showing off a bit and next minute he was down. What a mess skin ripped and bleeding, unconscious on the tarmac, that was the side stand trap he'd fallen into. I must say I was very impressed by the care and concern of all the people who tried to help him at the scene.
