My 1200 Motodd with Red's H/C pistons cranks over using a really small lithium battery rated at 290cca. That battery would be 6 years old now and sat on a shelf for 18 months while I had some frame repairs done. It cranked the motor over without a recharge. For a battery that weighs 700 grams I'm impressed.hi all just seen this chat was after a bit of info if some one can help , what is the smallest cca that will start a 1200 the reason for this is iam trying to hide the battery in the seat hump on my motodd the smaller the better thanks stuart

Why don't you just exit the breather all the time to the atmosphere instead of just once or twice a year? When I drive my 750´s hard it´s normal, that the motor "sweats" some oil/water-emulsion out of the hose on the top at the cylinderhat.
For the bikes without airfilter, I ad an Ducati part behind the smaler battery. It is only straped. The hose from the head goes inside the top of the one half, beside on the other halfe is the exit for the hose with clean air that goes behind. 1 or 2 times a year you have to drain the water/oil emuslion. Works fine.

When everyone argues like this, we have exactly the situation we are in.And a petrol station at the end of your street.
Come on.

Well, there will always be one who is worse. That would then justify everything.I totally agree Thomas but I think that sending a few cc of oily water to the recycling centre whilst drilling all over the planet for oil and sending tankers across the globe, occasionally sending our children to fight wars so as to have petrol to put in our playthings is trying to give oneself good conscience and nothing else.
