Smiths instrument suspended rubber mounts

Thoughts on replacing rubber mounting o-rings for speedo/tach set-up. I will have to drill out
the factory rivets on the brackets to install new o-rings. Any sources for these rivets...

Hopefully the rivets are softer aluminum instead of harder stainless. I used a cobalt drill bit to remove stainless rivets on an exhaust can.

Wouldn't recommend using rivets again. The alloy becomes brittle over the years.
The blow with a hammer could result in breaking the bracket into pieces.
Even if not original, better use bolts.

Yes to no rivets, use bolts and nuts, stainless steel, so you can polish them.
Also inspect for cracks on brackets near fork holes.
I had my brackets welded up, had the bottom ring made with 3D plastic and had to cut and glue o-ring stock to make o-rings to support gauges.
