1974 Laverda 1000 3C.

One owner since the 1970s well cared for Laverda 1000 3C. Not a museum artifact but regularly ridden motorcycle. Recent health issues forces sale of the machine. Cylinder head was prepared by Golden Shamrock in Winston Salem, North Carolina (NASCAR shop) and "Jotaized" in the 1970s.

Now the engine uses Axtell camshafts rather than the 1970s factory endurance cams, new high quality German valve springs, big bore exhaust blended with exhaust ports with matching high flow collector, Ross 77mm pistons, Most recent updated DMC-2 ignition, Nology high energy ignition coils, Rick's Electric Mosfet voltage regulator, new Avon tires, 520 "O" ring chain conversion, Koni shocks, single hump seat and original dual seat included with sale plus many spares including assorted valve shims. Maintenance log with service notes from 850 miles. Longest distance ridden award 2008 Laverda Rally award signed by Piero Laverda.
Bill of sale as 1970s motorcycles did not require a title in Georgia. Totally gluten free machine $12,500 USD Laverda forum members.

very nice, it even has the the reflectors on the upper fork, my 74 3C is one of the last non oil cooler ones, #1598 yours shouldn't be too far from mine, hope your health issues get better soon, Cheers

Thanks PF and Lee, this bike has a manufacturing date of July 1974 and is #2057. The reflectors are/were available from Wolfgang but not those black reflector mounts. After losing a few reflectors using some Gorilla glue keeps them attached.

Hi Rusty

Sorry to hear of your health issues and what a great bike you have there, I guess you've thought long and hard about selling such a lovely bike.

Its just what I want.

Cheers
Matt

One just loves to see a Laverda motorcycle used as a purpose-built mile muncher.
Thanks for sharing your story Rusty and all the best with the sale.
However ??
.. included with sale plus ... Longest distance ridden award 2008 Laverda Rally award signed by Piero Laverda.
I know it's your call,, but I would reconsider including your hard-won high mileage award?
Piero Laverda signed it in recognition of your achievement.
I suggest you hang it on the wall with pride and let it remind you when good times were had.
cheers, Mark

I did run those Guzzi fuel taps for a while waiting on some parts for the original taps which leaked fuel badly. Wolfgang supplied new screens/straws/gaskets and I rebuilt the originals and they are installed. AIRC the Guzzi taps were identical and not L or R. So the photo on the LH side makes the fuel tap look like the reserve is on. It was in fact off.

Thanks to all for the kind best wishes.
