Solid state relay for starter

I had a look at the wiring diagram for one of the Honda Hornets (900 and 600) and the 30A fuse is not to protect the solenoid at all, one end of the fuse connects to the battery side of the solenoid and the other to the ignition switch, ie it's the master fuse for the bike.

The solenoid will certainly work no problems but the fuse appears to be there purely for convenience. Also the ignition end of the fuse has 2 terminals on it, one goes to the ignition switch the other appears unused on the 900 and goes to the alternator regulator on the 600 to charge the battery. This would be a good place to attach a charger lead, GPS power feed or cigarette lighter to charge phones etc.

see bottom right of wiring diagram:-

Ooops.... well at least I worked it out in the end :)

Yes, guilty as charged of not reading the post, have to admit I think I just zoomed in on the line that started with 'drikko'......

That's a good thing then that fuse and connectors, 2 less wires to fuck around with on the battery terminal:)
