Someone got a bargain SFC1000.

Hi Dave,

As for a SFC1000 being stamped RGS on the motor, that is correct as they used the RGS Corsa motor.

I don't understand why this bike sold for so little money. My SFC1000 cost me $9600 and that was 25 years ago.

It sold for £3,680 with the buyers premium at 15%. So the seller maybe got £3100 which seems way too cheap?

Is that Paul I hear racing towards this thread …..

I have never bought a bike to make a profit selling it. I buy what I like and want to ride. And yes what I can afford (my wife is in charge of this) but are now Laverda's like trying to sell a Triumph Bonneville in the 1970's when you could get a really nice one for $150.

I understand the dealers and mechanics who will work on one are pretty much gone, but £3680 is a steal.

Will 750 SFC's soon be selling for $2500?

They were crazy expensive when new, reminds me of the Bimota with the 1100cc Suzuki engine that sold at a big Sydney bike shop for $11,000 about 10 years ago, apparently nobody knew what it was or wanted it.
