Hi i just missed a pair of calipers on ebay not sure if anyone on here was bidding they were a pair of shaved brembos like fitted on the spaceframe triples,either side of the calipers had been shaved and also between the mounting holes some had been taken off .Does anyone know if these calipers were the same as the standard ones?
 
They're based on the standard calipers.... the "Oro" calipers were also shaved and lightened standard items, anodised gold and fitted with the then new alloy pistons.  Early 750 bevel Ducatis also had 08 calipers that were not only shaved on the outside, but were also narrower, these needed thinner pads to fit on normal discs.

Thanks Piet these looked pretty old and they looked like they had been anodized after being shaved i wonder how much weight they saved after a shave not much i wouldnt have thought ? maybe as much as shaving the riders head :D
 
The Oro F08 on the Corsa and SFC 1000 weight almost the same as the black ones - besides the little plastic cover that you don't have on the Oro's...

We have had that discussion in the German forum I think 4 or 5 years ago. I took several gold ones I had at that time and compared them to the black ones of another forum member - weight was almost the same...
