I assume Thomas is referring to the ribs in the back of the engine?
Engine may be the real deal and reflects the current inflated price situation

Three daughters, surely?

With my first Laverda, a 3CL, sometime in the 80s, I was following a car going very slowly in Lille old town. A VW Beetle. It suddenly stopped because the driver had seen a parking space, I stopped as well but the car behind didn't and pushed me into the car in front. The car behind was an old Mercedes, so a VW in front and a Mercedes behind. Probably part of the reason I hate German cars. Anyway, all at very low speed but the Laverda stood up all by itself in between the two cars. Damage to the Laverda was minimal: rear mudguard, number plate, rear light. There was also a dent at the back of the tank where my belt buckle hit it. I never had that dent repaired and the bike was sold on with it still there. All the time I used that bike, I would describe the accident, saying that it was my testicles that dented the tank. I had a lot of success with the girls.
The Mercedes was scrapped, the front chassis member was damaged. One good thing.

"Three daughters, surely?" = No, the third girl on the right is the perfect and cheaper version, when you stay beside the same girlfriend for over 43 years.

But you didn't tell us that the Beatle was a convertible and the driver was young, female and very pretty. That explains, why the tank was weaker.
Luckily that didn't happen to you with the SFC. With a Fiberglass- tank you would now have a "beaver tail". :ROFLMAO:

I had my then girlfriend riding behind me, so didn't take much notice of the Beetle driver. The Mercedes driver however was an old acquaintance who used to ride Ducati singles.
