Paul LeClair said:looks to me like the entire fairing is sitting tipped downwards at the nose, resulting in the long arms from the fairing shell sitting tilted "Up" and a bit too high. They do not line up with the brackets that mount to the bike's frame at the coil bracket. The bike itself is pretty much exactly level in the photo.
this fairing and these brackets came off a crashedJota, the fairing was pretty badly broken and the various brackets were all bent. I have done some pretty significant straightening and aligning of brackets with a torch and a small sledge hammer.
I think I need to raise the nose of the fairing which will drop the tails of the faring shell along the sides of the tank.
Are the tails of the fairing supposed to be level with the bottom of the fuel tank?
How do the tails of the fairing shell mount to the brackets. Is the bracket arm supposed to be above or below the fairing shell?
IS there supposed to be any rubber mounting of the tails of the fairing shell?
If it is the same as the Jota 120 Paul then yours is tilting forward at a most crazy angle, here is the original factory poster:
The brackets from the coil mounts just clear the underside of the tank and top of cam cover and on mine at least go BELOW the tails of the fairing. If I tried to go ABOVE then it would all be crooked.
I would rubber mount the tails to bracket, I believe I have done this on mine, but it looks like I tightened too much as one side of the fairing is now cracked adjacent to the bolt.
It certainly does look like your bracket that goes to the rubber mounting is still bent.
I did a modification on mine
Also take note that the centre line of the indicator lenses is roughly in line with the bottom of the tank. So overall even if level, yours looks too high.
Bye the way, how many tape measures do you bloody need?
