starter flywheel removal

Hello, I want to check out the starter flywheel on my 71SF. I dont have any special tools. The 24 l/h thread nut comes
off easy enough, but I dont want to start clubbing it with anything to remove. Would a 3 leg puller be safe enough to use ?

I used a three leg puller which worked fine.

And have something to catch the things that go everywhere as you take it off.

the factory tool does work the best. You can borrow one from the tool library of the ILOC, if you are a member, might even be worth joining just for this one operation, if you are not already in that fold, and if you are contemplating othe work, more than one tool can be dispatched in the same box, as standard the loan gives you two weeks, but this can usually be extended by arrangement, if no one is waiting to use it.
