Starter motor relay question??

Hi all - I would like to mount my original Bosch (silver box type) s/motor relay laying flat as it suits the electrics panel I'm making on  a 750 I'm wiring. I've not seen one mounted other than vertical so am wondering if there is any reason that this may cause problems? - Thanks - Phil

My Egli's Bosch regulator is mounted upside down under the battery tray. Has been sitting there since 1972. No problem as yet!
Suppose a starter relay in its side will not be problem either..

The box isn't waterproof, so make sure it isn't subject to spray that could collect and find a way in, degrading relay operation over time

Suggest you ground the low side of that Starter Relay through the Neutral Sx - So you can only start it in Neutral - May save you Starter over time :o)

The relay sometimes corrodes/falls apart Lothar and  contacts come together - so S/m then kicks in and self destructs - well tucked away Rob - Good Idea Ron  would avoid any chance of problems but this is a racing motor with no neutral switch. - Regards - Phil
