Starter Relay wiring

Not being at all versed in things electrical.....
I've put all the starter gear back on my 500 based track bike, now I need to wire it in.
I've bought a starter relay on ebay. It's from a 500 GS Suzuki, it's small and can be mounted unobtrusively.
Now how do I wire that relay in?
One heavy duty lead from battery plus to relay and another from relay to starter motor, that's ok. There's 2 fine wires coming out of the relay. I presume I take one wire to the starter button, but the other goes where? Earth?

Well, nearly all done, putting finishing touches to wiring.
I'll be using a starter button that earths, so I presume my second wire from the relay must go to battery +?

Mindful of your earlier question, and assuming we're talking about the same bike then the (small) wiring for your starter relay and button should go like this:

Battery + (via a fuse please!) -> relay -> starter button -> earth
 
Not quite, rather than taking it from the battery, take it from the ignition switched positive assuming it has one, being a race bike it might not. That way the starter can't be operated if the ignition switch is off.

If you want the kill switch to disable the starter as well then take the +ve feed from that although that depends on how the kill switch is wired in.
 
Ok, thanks for your replies.
The bike has no ignition switch, there's simply an on/off switch which I'm going to change since I'm putting the battery in the back of the saddle, it used to be down by the engine behind the fairing lowers but I've done away with those so need to review the ignition feed. I should be able to plumb the starter circuit in with the ignition switch, it's just that I'm going to have to think a bit.

Whilst we're at it and since my english isn't what it used to be, here's a diagram of the switch I intend using.
I presume the + goes to "supply" via a fuse. The electrons will when the switch is on, go out from "load" to the ignition modules and the + of the starter relay.
Is that correct?

Interestingly, the ignition boxes, standard Bosch units apparently have no sticker with a number and what may have been a number engraved on the side of the boxes, which is what I have on the Electronica, has been filed off. Maybe special boxes of some sort?

Yes. Actually electrons go the other way from what everyone thinks ie they go from the -ve terminal to the +ve terminal, but not being a mechanic it doesn't really matter :)
 
..and the LED will only flow current when wired the correct way round - N-type to negative, P-type to positive, electrons jumping from hole to hole..
 
The other thing about LEDs is that you can't wire them directly to a 12V supply. Well, I suppose you can, but if you want it to last longer than half a second when you switch it on, it's best not to.

The LED will need a series resistor to limit the current that goes through it. If it is in a unit designed as an idiot light for automotive use, it will probably have a built-in resistor. If not, you'll need to calculate the resistance required and solder one into the circuit.

Here's a LED resistance calculator http://led.linear1.org/1led.wiz/. You need to plug in the specs of the LED you're using.

The switch is from an auto parts shop.
Sort of things a youngster might use to let him know his car Hi-Fi is on.
Since I'm using a total loss system, I want to make sure that the Hi-Fi is turned off when I'm finished.
