bin it and fit solenoid (yes a solenoid not a relay) from a car, I use a Land Rover, classic mini, Jaguar, Rover, Daimler type thing very cheap, first lasted twenty years, repleced about eight years ago was around 15GBP.it also gives you electrical ports to hook onto such as always on, on only when ignition is on, and on only when cranking, very handy for a 12v boost down stream of the "no start" Bosch resistors
CLEM
I had starting issues 20 years ago, spent a couple of weeks bump starting the bike with camping gear on a trip to Melbourne, not fun and the first fix done by the very old Auto Sparky back in Sydney was filing and cleaning the Starter Relay. I had no idea you could even open it up That worked for a while and then the Starter Motor was rebuilt. No idea about the gap, It now has some kind of I think Suzuki starter relay fitted
All the other bikes have Japanese solenoids, one on the 750 is working fine, just maintenance to clean and set the points. If it gives trouble I've got a spare jap one on the shelf
