starter weep hole

A: which model of bike are you talking about? Laverda made a few.
B: first cause is oil spilt from filling. It goes under the starter and out from there.
C: otherwise, base gasket?
D: and lastly, starter motor gasket, but there's not much oil getting up there.

Hi Paul , its 81 Jota , def not a spill , the generator cover was off last year only about 100 miles ago. the leak is not massive but it drips .

Grommet on alternator wires possibly not seated fully when replacing cover. Oil runs down the wires and escapes!!
(I had the same when repairing starter clutch years ago, Red suggested this and voila, easy fix)
