Hello Ventodue,
normally starters and alternators are easy to fix, I refurbished two for a friend last week.
What can be defective?
- the winding (extremely rare)
- The coals are worn out (more often)
- as a result of bad coals, the copper contact surface on the rotor is worn out (= sparks)
- The rotor winding is defective (short circuit, occurs very rarely)
- the bearings are defective (rather rare)
Please also check
- is the start relay really ok?
- is the battery resilient/ok?
- Is the starter freewheel ok?
The above points are easy to fix if you have the knowledge and a late.
In addition, some of the Zane starters fit the three-cylinders with little adjustments.
It would be ideal if you could borrow a starter from another Laverdisti to see, if the problem is really your starter.
Can you remove the starter and open it carefully?
If I had pictures of coals and the runner, I would be better able to assess where the problem lies.
If you get stuck (which I don't believe), you can send me the starter.
I then overtake him for max. 50 EUR (plus shipping costs) if neither of the two windings is burned out.
