Starting issue after coil change

I have a feeling I've done something stupid.
I changed over my old Japanese coils for a set of NOLOGY PRO-FIRE - leads & plug caps were also changed.
On trying to start, bike starts up on cylinder 1 only, I swapped over the plug leads from cylinder 3 to cylinder 1 (at the plug cap), bike starts up only on cylinder 1 though - so I don't think there is anything wrong with the double coil.
Anybody got any ideas?

Remind us what ignition system you’re using?
Seem to remember that some are not compatible with alleged “high performance” coils.
Experts will be along shortly 👍
Bike was fitted with a DEWITT system when I bought it, funny thing though when I went back 10 minutes later the bike started up on all 3 without issue.

Might it have been a fuelling issue, earlier?
Beginning to think that too, bike's been laid up since November last year with empty float bowls. Been tinkering around with it on & off through the winter finally putting everything back together this weekend.
I had a new set of Nology caps and leads give similar trouble. Went back to the old copper ones from 1974. Dellorto's got an overhaul in fault finding process.
Really don't want to tear into the carbs, I removed the float bowls when I first got the bike (some 2 years ago now) & everything was clean as a whistle. Got a set of MIKUNI's waiting in the wings - probably next year.

I was surprised that float settings were off. Valve clearances too. Bike has less than 10 thousand km. Wonder if PO had any business working on it.
At least the cam support studs were not stripped out. But my problem was the wire set. Timing light was acting weird on the problem cylinder. Had mine only couple years also. Came running on two of three. Replaced HKZ for Ignitech and Nology. Was a brain teaser for a while. HKZ was bad. Then new wires. But runs smoother than any 1000 I've ridden.

Depends on the coil rating - you need 3 ohm primary to keep the Witt / DMC box happy unless you're running a recent (suitably configured) version of the DMC2.
Bought as 3 Ohm, must admit though I didn't actually measure before fitting. What is the tolerance?
