anyone know what diameter and length the rivet is supposed to be for the Neiman steering lock? Just got the lock and cover but came without the rivet and my frame didn't have one when I got it...
seems like it should be 4mm diameter or thereabouts.. hate to order a bag of them and find out they don't fit..

I don't think this one fit's our bikes.. for sure the cover is wrong and like the one I got from wolfgang looks like the pin needs to be cut down and the recess lengthened .... at this point I simply need a rivet... but thanks

Got a new Niemann lock here with unused rivet - don't know for sure whether it fits a Lav but no reason it shouldn't. It is dome headed with the head being 7mm diameter. The shank is 4.1mm diameter and 10mm long. There is a recess in the cover plate into which the rivet head fits and allows it to hinge.

Don,

Only the cover is wrong.  Think the oval cover has been largely discontinued.

Use a 4mm alloy pop rivet instead!  Bit tight at first, but you can pry the cover clear a bit once it's fited.  Been working fine on a couple of my bikes for years.

No good for a concours finish though...
