steering stops

I discovered that my '77 3CL steering stop is bent and cracked.  I will need to source another one.  Do the Ceriani and Marzocchi front ends use the same steering stop?

No, it's only a single steel plate - not laminated. It's probably just the residual stresses in the plate where it was bent that's making the crack appear to be laminated. If you weld it up it'll most likely be stronger than it was because you'll have eliminated work-hardened bend.

I'm not so sure.  It looks like it is delaminating where the crack is.  It appears to be made from two sheets of steel that have been welded together.

I have to say that would a very elaborate way to make a bracket!

I would grind into the crack just short of halfway through, put a fillet weld in with a 'rutile' rod - if still in one piece, then do the same trick on the other side.
Dress the weld with a grinder, check the crack is history and away you go! Not a lot of bother.
