Stepped nut size

The wire wheel original spanner that fits the cush drive retaining nut fits with a double set in it and an extra handle welded on - sleeve over spanner is so that the crank locking tool keeps spanner in position with the alt retaining nut fitted. Guiseppe Andrighetto & Tony Cavazzin  left it for us when the factory sent them over to repair the ball bearing cranks in 1979. - Regards - Phil

Just in case Guiseppe Andrighetto & Tony Cavazzin don't leave a factory one for you  :D Grey Pneumatic does an extra deep M36 socket (recommended by Wolfgang), 2036XMD, available from your local friendly online retailer.

I made a deep socket out of a bit of galvanised water pipe for that job. Looks like shit but it works.
