Swingarm lenght

Anybody any idea if a swingarm would fit the Triple frame, that puts the rear axle 2" backwards (longer wheelbase)?
Just asking, because after nearly 3.5 years waiting for my ordered and payed for (? 600,-) JMC Swingarm, I need a wider arm because the Continental 150/65x18 RoadAttack 2 CR has only 1.5 mm play on both sides. I managed to fit a Suzuki GSX 1100 (1986?) swingarm into my 1976 Yamaha 650 XS and was wondering if it would suite the Lav as well. Schock mountings will move rearward as well for about 2 ", so shocks will be much more inclined.
What would it do with road behaviour?

Any suggestions?

Regards, Hein

Hein, good to hear from you again.
A longer swingarm will make the centre of gravity move forward, and will make it less agile round the bends.
My friend had a JMC monoshock fitted to his Formula Mirage back in the day and it was an inch or two longer than stock too. It made the bike slower steering.
Can't you get a Bakker swingarm for it? It could be made the way you want it then.

Hi Grant, yes, I have been thinking about Bakker making one up to my own specs. Gijs van Dijk might know another one person as well, who might even billet machine one (would that mean stronger??). In fact I was as well just letting out my frustrations about JMC! How the hell can these crooks get away with this kind of dealing?
Will let you know what I'm up to.
Even thinking of riding in to Spain somewhere in June, might come by, as I would like to visit the Monfrag?e park near Cacerez (bird watching and so on), so Madrid will be more or less on my way.
Might need on oil change in between, so that would be a good reason to visit the only Lav specialist in Spain....

See you, Hein

Hein, you are more than welcome!
Monfrague park is around a 2 hour drive away.

I think there were a few forum members waiting on swingarms from JMC as well as you. I wonder if they received theirs. If not maybe you could sell your one if it's not what you need now.

Hi Heine
I have a JMC on my 83 Jota that took months to get delivered.

It works very well and although slightly longer than the original I have not noticed ant adverse handling problems.

Be prepared to take a ball ended hammer to it to make it fit though.  I had to make an indent on one side to allow clearence for the rear brake bell crank weld that is innermost on the frame.

I've never been able to work out how to post pictures on here so I can't show you.

If it's of any consolation the best swing arm I ever used was the under braced type sold by Windy Corner many yonks ago.

Hey Grant,

Thanks again for replying, seems you misunderstood my first post: I NEVER received any swingarm from JMC, so those 600 bucks are gone...
At the time I ordered it, I stated a 150 mm width rear tyre should be able to fit: No problem they said.

Numerous emails, phone calls, but they seem to have run out of business, or have been overtaken by Abbey Engineering?
On their now vanished website they dare stating, that customers, who had previously ordered by JMC and not been satisfied, could order again and now receive a price cut.... You understand I didn't feel like going in to that kind of trouble again!

I will for sure find one.

Hein,

Use a RGS swinger... needs only a little mod at the fulcrum tube to fit the old triple (or twin) frame, and is  approx 30mm longer than the stock swingarm.  I fitted it mainly to move weight bias further forward, enhances suspension a bit too.  Looks period, is no heavier than the stock item but a little stiffer.
