Tach cable Gt

Every time I turn hard right when I wheel my GT out of the garage the tip of the tach cable falls out of its drive on the one inch piece to the cam worm drive. Just stuffed a 3 inch hose tip over the bottom end of the tach cable to straighten it out more. Won't sag but haven't tested it yet because of rain. I could loosen the top @ the instrument. Put an o ring or something on top of cable fitting to give more length on the bottom but don't know if that would work because then the cable won't connect to the instrument....Any suggestions? Whenever I turn right that cable gets tight but it is stopped at the end of its reach. Handle bars won't turn anymore on the frame. The cam worm drive to the later models are slightly longer w/ more worm & thats what I have been using.
& I also need throttle cables. Where is the best place in US to buy throttle cables?

Where did you purchase your cable?
Which handlebars have you got on the bike?

What difference does the handlebar make to a tacho mounted on the triple clamp bracket? I use a cable from triple as it is longer, hangs down a bit but not a problem. My SF had a little tang from the horn bracket to keep the cable in under the fuel tank.

You're right, I wasn't thinking.
One can only presume that the cable is too short then. It shouldn't pull like that when turning the bars right.
