Tacko Identification

I have a ND speedo and tacho on my 3C, the speedo has the Laverda name in the little circle on the face. The Tacho does not, but it does have the 6500 starting red line. We have been checking it a bit lately and at 4000,the bike one, the tacho we have added extra shows 3500. Whats the chance this is a tacho set up for a Honda or is it just out of wack. This comes from me saying I am doing 5k and other Laverdas next to me are doing 4k. Similar thing happening with the speedo,me saying we are cruising at 140 and they say 120ish.

Yep,doing the GPS thing soon. There is an electronic tacko being fitted soon as well as a piggyback to see what the cable one is doing

Quite easy to check tach accuracy.

Drive it from a lathe with known revs, multiple by 3 and you should have your reading.

Never seen a Honda with a 6500 red line... at least not with the Lav-type instruments. ::)

Its my fault for pointing out that his tacho hasnt got the Laverda Logo on it........oh and his tacho definately don't read the same as the timing light or ignitech programme tells ...............for eg.. at 800rpm tick-over his tacho is reading a solid 500 rpm.

Yep there is an easy way for sure to get it sorted...pull the damn thing off and give it to Jason to sort and whilst he is at it get him to put a new face on it with the logo !!

Mays we'll get both done ay.....

Hi Vince if you pull off the tacho I can run it up on my machine and give some idea if its 3:1, 4:1 or just out of calibration.
