Tank badge paint colors

I have a nice set of tank badges for my 1974 SF2 but they need repainted. Are there easy to find color matches in small batches like a nail polish size to match the factory Laverda colors red and green?

Same as Paul, I use Humbrol enamel on the badges.

Thank you kindly Paul and Ian. I'm sure it's been discussed a multitude of times but I just frequent this forum occasionally when working on my SF2, among a multitude of other brands. The knowledge on this forum is second to none.

Hi!

as I do it:

- first clean with solvent or glass blasting
- layer of aluminium primer with spray. sand blast the edges to keep aluminium shine.
- with a LOT OF PATIENCE and a very small brush, paint!
- for drying, i put it in a tupper with small holes, to avoid dust getting attached while drying... I had to repeat once for that. In the morning when it was dry, the surface was plenty of dust particles... that was my cheap solution.

I use "esmalte sint?tico", synthetic enamel??? they well it in 100ml pots at my father's business 8) i didn't use even 10ml...

If you put something to lay your hand and only use the fingers, then is super easy, and the hand becomes steady, a bit like a sniper with the three legs rifle...
I also thought i couldn?t do it, but when I payed 3 hours of work of my painter, I decided that from now on I will do them myself, no matter how difficult, how dangerous, how life threatening it could be...

Excellent info. I found all 3 Humbrol colors on ebay from 2 different vendors, all for under $15 shipped. I am willing to try this before spending over $100 for reproduction badges.

This is probably obvious, but unless you're Leonardo da Vinci, let each colour dry fully before applying the next colour. That way you can wipe up any mistakes without messing up the adjacent colour.

Although you could more than likely get away with doing the red and green at the same time because they're separated by the white band in the middle. So you'll still be able to wipe up any overspill into the white area if you're careful.
