Hi all . i am in need of the spring steel clip that returns the flip button on the filler cap unable to post a pic as mine is missing!!!! any thoughts who would have one ? Thanks

Buy a new filler cap. They come affordable from any Guzzi-Dealer Be aware there are two types though. More info here:

Hi there I have small problem on my sfc replica. I bought new fuel filler cap and i noticed right away that fuel is pouring out when braking ,... Then i compared filler cap with original laverda filler cap on my 750 sf and i noticed that original filler cap seals to outside lip of the filler...

Do you mean the flat spring? Just 'a bit of plate-looking' thing? If so, I made my replacement from a hacksaw blade (for the suitable material characteristics), fashioned it to shape on the grinder, hardened then tempered. Has lasted about 5 years so far and all good.

Hi No its not the flat bit .the flat part is the part that keeps the seal under contact with the tank neck ,the part i am missing returns the button .

Stein Dinse in Germany sells them and many others, too. Ebay lists them also, relatively cheap even as it is used (compared to other dealers...):
That one is as mine was before I changed to the later version with no leaking problem. It has the larger diameter where the sealing surface shall be the outer side of the filler neck while the later version seals against the lower part of the filler (for which I recommend the tube-type rubber insert).

I bought a stainless one from Officine 08. Quality is not what it used to be.

officine08 claims it's chromed... (see parts description). Did you maybe buy the one with the lock? in that part description, there is no mentioning of "chrome", so maybe that one is stainless, the one without lock is chromed? Don't know...
Officine08 says it's steel, chrome colour if my understanding of German. is sufficient. Not chromed steel.
The one I received is stainless.
Saves me chroming my burnt ones.
Again as far as the 3C is concerned.

I bought this one from eBay in the USA, I had had enough of trying to get the old one to work properly, leaking badly whenever the brakes were needed plus the cap was becoming increasingly more difficult to open, the last time it took me close to 30 mins luckily I was in my garage. I think I may still require the insert thingy for peace of mind.

That looks from the color of it like stainless steel, but I might be wrong. Still, the under side is exactly what I mean with "later type". This one seals already great against the filler neck, the tube-type insert will control the gas flow and keep it from coming in with speed/pressure to the filler cap.
Not sure how the "earlier type" filler cap with the larger metal plate under the rubber should ever give a good sealing area to the filler neck...

Odd - I'm sure my original tank cap is the larger one that sealed against the outer lip of the tank (IMPERATIVE to remove any paint from the sealing surface) - and never had issues with leaking at any time. was on the bike for 25 years with loads of use.

If you like it chromed, it's easy to dismantle and get it chromed...
might just cost a fortune then... Or use the old chromed one (if still on hand in acceptable condition) and put the new internals into it...,I know.If you like it chromed, it's easy to dismantle and get it chromed...
I collect burnt petrol caps. I even have a big bore SFC one.
Chroming them did seem expensive. Particularly the 3C one which I'd already had chromed, once.
