Hello fellas
Is there a product that would be suitable to cure a very small leak in the base of my petrol tank this spot was braised when it was repainted but seems to have failed after 8yrs . I am just trying to avoid repainting an otherwise perfect tank
Many Thanks

Cring, not my favorite tank liner.Just about any of the 3 step liners would help, had a horror experiance with Kreem and a rusty tank.It formed a big lump and didnt stick,it was a long time ago and I had done the screws in the tank and shake plus the dilute acid to clean out the rust ect ect. After all that the carbs still would block up with flacky rust.I ended up cutting the bottom out and doing it right.Thats how I got the Kreem out as well.I like the Casoli gear.

Casswell is the best product I've found when researching tank liners. Haven't used any yet but when I finish my carbon tank, Casswell will be the stuff I'll be using.
But that'll be for ethanol protection rather than holy/rusty tank problems.
Have heard quite a few horror stories about Kreem linings.

Tapox by Caswell, ethanol resistant too,key is drying the tank with an air line for a couple of hours afterwards.

Kreem might be up to it.

I am a fan (and user) of KREEM, too. Have done 3 tanks with them (none of which were leaking before, but they all were rusty and I used it to de-rust and protect the tank...). If you stick 100% to the description, it works very well, but it is a lot of work and takes 2-3 days if you do everything right...  ;)

This is what you need as recommended in the ILOC library technical section.

This is a superb website for anybody who has an interest in restoring old bikes or cars. The amount of useful stuff for sale is truly amazing and I am sure you will still be browzing through the pages and pages of information long after your cup of tea has gone cold.

Oh sorry, I forgot (120? owner). We're supposed to be bikers. You will be looking through the items available long after your bleeding tinny has warmed up!

Cheers

Villiers Service in West Mids do a tank sealer, dont know the name but at shows they sell rucks of it.

It is used mainly in old rusty tanks. I used it once on an old plastic tank but is also sealed the tap.

PS if you want advice ask for Steve or Louis

Well the tank was actually treated with POR 15 from Frosts and I was very pleased with it I think it would still be fine if the repair had been successful .

Many Thanks
