great solution, I wish I still had my Pratt and Whitney lathe (yes the same firm that makes jet engines)

Using a lathe to rotate the tank is somewhat more sophisticated than my bicycle wheel/electric motor apparatus. One thing to watch for though are nails or screws that get lodged in the bottom tank seams after tumbling. A sharp tap with a soft mallet usually sets them free.
